How this ranking works

Ranked by median residential property tax bill from the latest New York State assessment roll. For each district, the median bill is the per-parcel projection (full market value × combined county, town and school rate ÷ $1,000) taken across every residential parcel, so districts that span several towns use each parcel’s own rate. Village, library and special-district levies are excluded.

Each ZIP code is ranked by the median bill of the school district most of its homes fall into. ZIP codes with fewer than 500 parcels are left out.

Built from roll year 2025 data. Cross-check with your county receiver of taxes before making financial decisions.
