We're transparent about how this site makes money. longislandpropertytax.com is free to use because we receive compensation from a small number of vetted partners when you choose to contact them through links on this site.

What partners we work with

We may receive compensation from:

• Tax-grievance firms — when you contact a firm through a link on a result page or guide page.
• Mortgage brokers and lenders — when you request pre-qualification through a partner shown on a result page.
• Real estate agents and brokerages — when you connect with an agent through a partner link.
• Newsletter sponsors — clearly labeled "Sponsored by" in any email that contains a sponsored section.

Sponsored or affiliate links on this site are marked with rel="sponsored" in the HTML, the FTC-recommended convention.

How this affects what you see

The property tax estimates we display are computed entirely from public NY State data. They are not affected by partner relationships. We do not adjust your bill, your projected bill, or your school district figures based on whether a partner pays us.

Partner placements (the "Bill looks too high?", "Buying this home?", and "Looking in [town]?" blocks on result pages) are clearly visually distinct from the data we display, and are labeled as such. When no partner is configured for a location, we show neutral guide content we wrote ourselves instead.

Our standards for partners

Before listing a partner, we verify:

• The firm or broker is actively licensed in New York.
• They have a public-facing presence with verifiable contact information.
• Their pricing model is reasonable and clearly disclosed (especially for grievance firms, which work on contingency).

If you have a complaint about a partner you found through this site, please email hello@longislandpropertytax.com — we take partner quality seriously and have removed partners for poor user experience.

FTC compliance

This disclosure complies with the FTC's "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising" (16 CFR Part 255). When we describe a partner positively, we are describing a partner who pays us — not making an objective endorsement.
